The top 10 CNN Heroes of 2010

(CNN) -- A Scotsman providing free daily meals to 400,000 children, a former child soldier clearing land mines in Cambodia and a Texas builder giving injured vets mortgage-free homes are among the top 10 CNN Heroes of 2010.

The top 10 -- remarkable individuals nominated by viewers for their sacrifices and accomplishments -- were revealed by CNN's Anderson Cooper at 1 p.m. Thursday on CNN.com.

This year marks CNN's fourth annual global search for everyday individuals changing the world. Since January, the network has aired weekly profiles of CNN Heroes, chosen from more than 10,000 nominations submitted by viewers in 100 countries.

Aki Ra is helping to make Cambodia safer by clearing land mines, many of which he planted years ago as a child soldier.

Jet Li, Angelina Jolie targeted for new movie in Cambodia



PHNOM PENH, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- A famous Chinese action movie star Jet Li (Chinese name: Li Lianjie), and American movie actress Angelina Jolie are expected to be included in a new movie to be produced in Cambodia.

In a press conference held on Wednesday in Phnom Penh, Thomas Magyar, a project manager for the planned movie, and Tony Schiena, a project coordinator and a Hollywood star said the film they had planned to produce will be named as "Great Khmer Empire."

They said the film might cost approximately 70 million U.S. dollars and it will need about three years to make it, saying the large time span will be caused by the consultations with Cambodian government and historians on accuracy of the history as well as the script writing.

Both Tony Schiena and Thomas Magyar said, to date, they are looking at several famous movies stars such as Jet Li, Chinese action star, Angelina Jolie, an American movie actress, John Cena, world's famous wrester and South Korean movie actress Song Hye Kyo among others.

The movie will focus on history of Cambodia, especially, during the glorious period in 11th and 12th century under the King Jayavarman the VII, who until today, considered as the great King of Cambodia and who finished up the building of Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia.

Angelina Jolie adopted a Cambodian son and was granted a Cambodian citizenship.

She was also a star in the famous movie titled "Tomb Raider" which some parts of the episodes were also shot in Siem Reap province where many temples including Angkor Wat Temple are located in.

Meeting on 11th Sep 2010

On September 11th, 2010, Cambodian Student Association at Chonnam National University held first meeting after the 4th election. The meeting was attended by president, Mr. Sereyvath Yoeun, vice-president, Mr. Kongkea Phan, and other ten members.

Two main topics were put into meeting agenda including preparation of Korean book, which explain in Khmer; and financial contribution of member for supporting association activities.

After two hours (8:00 pm to 10:00 pm) discussion, the meeting was found their appreciate results by building up a Korean Education Center of Cambodian Student Association at Chonnam National University. Mr. Puthy Roath Chum and Mr. Sophea Donang Nop were recruited as head and secretary, respectively; and Mr. Sansouci Ty, Sereyvath Yoeun, Veasna Phan, Sovannarith Ngoun as the member.

In the shortly future, we do expect that CNU-CSA will be able public Korean language book which describe in Khmer.

Updated information on new members

There are four new Khmer students, has arrived Chonnam National University (CNU) for their master course. They have been in CNU campus since the end of August. Mr. Chankrasna Im comes for his master degree of General Management at College of Business Administration, Mr. Sophearith Yen and Mr. Saophuong Neung come for their master degree of Geology, whereas Mr. Sovannarith Ngoun comes for master degree of Educational Administration. We appreciate and welcome to all of four new members to join our Association (CNU-CSA).
